    Hello good Folk,

I will have available in the next week or so several Endler Guppys. These are 'pure' bloodline Endlers, and have at no point been crossed with 'normal' guppys.

The parents to these available are offspring from the Profs Endlers. So that would make these the Grandchildren of the Profs ones!!

Due to several females giving birth at once, there are around 50 young Endlers at varying stages of development, but there are a few that are starting to colour up, and many that are already sexable.

As a result, they will be steadily available over the next few weeks and as more grow, then they too will be available.

I will sell them for R10 each or R15 for a pair (Male + Female). If anyone wants the whole batch (+/-50), then we can negotiate!! Lol!!

    Any interest, please PM me.

    Regards
    G!

I have to be honest and say I really don't know?? never 'travelled' any??

Being guppies I'd imagine they would do fine, as they are pretty tough little critters?

I'm also not sure how to send fish across the country, as I've never done this and would be reluctant to do this unless someone can advise??

    Cheers

Yes in my opinion Guppys and Danios travel very well.

Ok heres a story thats going to shock all of you, two weeks ago i organised for someone to bring me some Guppys and Danios from Empangeni.

I gave them some advice as to how to transport the fish, but was told not to worry they know what they are doing. [fair enough]

Just imagine the shock i got when my fish arrived in a two litre cooldrink bottle. [icouldn't believe it] any ways the fish all survived the trip and i haven't lost any.

Oh and by the way they used a funnel to get the fish into the bottle.

So they must be really hardy fish to survive something like that.

Ok now that is a first!! A plastic 2L as transport container.

I have a small 6 pack cooler that I put the bag is when the fish is traveling. So they don't get stressed out to much...

You guys can imagine how shocked i was, i've never seen anything like that before.

It's a long trip about 6 1/2 hours, so the fish must have been like that for about 8 hours.

    It's just crazy.

I've heard reports of fish being flown from Europe and even south america in a tiny bit of water inside a thermos flask!! It between 10 and 12 hours flight time from Europe, so thats pretty hectic! Granted its a Thermos, but the very fact that they have survived such ordeals is a testiment to their hardiness!

But then, when the first Paradise fish was shipped to Europe, that was definately not in a Thermos or any special container, in fact it was probably just kept in a jug on a table in the captains office!? That journey would have taken weeks rather than hours!!

    Cheers

I originally bought 5 pairs from him, and within about 10 days had some fry swimming around!!

I now have in excess of 50! And see new fry all the time! Haven't actually managed to see any being given birth to yet tho! That I'd like to see!

Dane, if you are interested, then PM me a day and time, and a rough idea of how many you would like?? I could do anytime after 1 ish later in the week if my back is better?? Struggling to even stand at the mo!! Hoping that a visit to the Chiro tomorrow will sort things out! Wish me luck!!

    Cheers

I have managed to get a few very rough pics, not the greatest!! They don't really do the males justice!! They shine much brighter in real life, but its the best I could do to give you an idea!! Bare in mind that these are the parent males, so the markings on the young for sale may vary slightly!?

    Her we go....

Nice endlers. For your information, I have shipped guppies to as far as Brazil and USA and it took one week. They travel well and I packed them in breathing bag. Just stop feeding them 2 days prior to departure and they will arrive safe and healthy.

    Big G,

The breathing bags are made by a company called Kordon but these are not sold in South Africa. I have used them and as Fishoman indicates they work very well. What you do is put the fishes into the bag and fill it up completely with water, NO AIR! The bag for the transportation of a single guppy would be about 200 ml and you would seal it by knotting the bag. You then pack the bags in polystryrene chips in a box with big gaps between them to allow air movement into the bag.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk
