    Hi Everyone,

In case you were looking for Endler Guppies, I imported some in June and I now have lots of offspring. I can offer pairs that are about 2.5 to 3 cm and clearly sexed for R15 per pair.

The pic I show is of the original male that I imported (which we discussed in a previous thread), most of my males have black lines and dots as well as the intensive gold colouration that normal guppies do not show. These are pure Endler's and not hybrids. Most of those on offer are hybrids such as the snakeskins and the king cobras, they are not pure Endler's. Pure Endler's do not eat their babies which explains why from the original pair that I imported, I now have over 300 fishes less than 6 months later......

I will post more pics later.

These fishes are just what you need if you want to control algae in a planted tank!

Please feel free to contact me by PM if you are interested.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

Endler guppies are not too fussy with regard to requirements. Mine do well in neutral to slightly acid water. I feed them on my fine granulates and as a treat they get some frozen cyclops.

They spend their days nibbling at things, and they will reduce green algal growth, but I cannot say that they are capable of reducing beard algae, although they may reduce the spread of it, by eating it when it just starts growing on plants and other items in an aquarium.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

I tried to photograph them again this afternoon, but these little fishes are so busy and move so fast that it is very difficult to get them into the picture and in focus. The pic of one of over 120 that I took. Note that the male has more black than the first fish that I showed and many of the males have these lines and most have a middle dot.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

these look very much like the "original" guppies. possibly some of these were mixed in as well with the original batches caught in the wild.

    sorry, wasnt finishing editing yet

so what is the difference between these and the wild guppies? where must the black dot or line be?

    No lowracer,

You must do your homework carefully here. There are very definite differences with other wild-caughts and the differences are very carefully and well documented in a recent scientific publication.

I can also assure you that nothing has been "mixed in" here by chance, these are pure Endler's and they specifically are the type coming from the "Laguna de los Patos" from Venezuela. There has been no guesswork here, these are wild types of which the origin is precisely known.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk
