Emporer Tetra and Silver Tips?

Hi folks! I have a random question which may be obvious, but here goes... Will a male emporer tetra breed with a female silver tip tetra? I always assumed that they would not cross breed, but I have a male emp who is chasing an eggfull silver tip around with all my male silver tips! Now its got to the point where he is now accompanying the female around, and flirting with her in a way that only emporer tetras can flirt, and chasing the male silver tips away from her! Should I be concerned? Can an emporer even fertilise silver tips eggs? Am I to expect frankenstiens children? What would they be called? Emporer tips? Haha! Please give me any info you know regarding cross breeding of tetras? Cheers! Big G!
