    Hi Guys,

Just bought an electronic ballast and wanted to make sure that this ballast will be safe to run 2 x 54w T5's.

According to the electrical expert at the shop, this ballast is made for 5 ft globes and not 4ft and he reckons that the ballast will pop the globes. He also reckons that there isnt an electronic ballast made for 4ft globes.

Need to know if anyone out there is currently using something similar. @jakkals, i know you did a lighting upgrade and hoping you can shed some light as well.

The ballasts states that is able to 2x 58w T8 globes. Heres a pic with the details.

So, will i be able to run 2x T5's with this ballast?

T5 requires a specific T5 electronic ballast I think. Take a look at Osrams website, pretty much a ballast for any tube(s) If not in stock most decent electrical shops should be able to get one for you. A good ballast does a lot of work, selecting the wrong one will dramatically shorten the life of the tubes in most cases...

They do work. Been running them(exact same ballasts) on two different T5 odyssea light units who's ballast went kapoof. Just have a little delayed start up time that you don't normally get on the normal t5 ballasts.
