    Rate of growth still hasn't slowed at all, in fact it seems to be increasing...

    No idea when they spawn. I'm not planning to breed them, but if one does want to, you have to pair it with a regular Jack Dempsey that carries the blue gene. The offspring of 2 EBJD are apparently too weak to survive.

    Looks like I got lucky with a mated pair of EBJD. They both took turns at clearing 2 possible sites, both also digging a pit at the base of the rock. This went on for about 4-5 days

    Then tonight I got home to this..

    It'll be interesting to see how well they manage to defend their eggs against the other fish. The Severums hardly managed a day:(
