Eheim Pro II

    Hi there

    I am currently pricing equipment for a tank upgrade (70L to 188L) for my Oscar.
    Have the opportunity to purchase a second hand Eheim pro II and wanted to know if it was a good idea or not.
    It's around 6 years old and will most likely require a pipes and filter media replacement.

    Your direction and advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Well bradley it depends on how much they want for the filter. Why dont you go and shop around for a new filter for that tank. Pipes and filter media get a bit expensive. I may be wrong here but i think a 188l tank is a bit to small for an Oscar. Correct me if i am wrong.

    The eheim takes standard clear tubing so you dont have the buy th expensive eheim pipes. which filter media do you want to put in there? bio-balls are cheap

    Get a bigger tank brad. Its a good investment. You will enjoy it and so will the oscar.

    bigger tank

    i agree maybe a 300l and eheim good idea just look at the impeller casing , sponsge and lava rock or siprox is better for good filtration:idea:
