Eggs?

    hi guys.

    Today i noticed egg looking objects, not sure if they are.

    The are float against the top of my tank. think there is about 15-20 of them. waiting for camera to charge then will post a pic

    Erm - what fish do you have in that tank and what colour are the 'eggs'?

    They could be, as with some fish their eggs do float. What fish are in the tank?

    I have one, female

    Bala Shark X3
    Keyhole
    Gourami
    Pleco
    a little catfish looking fish that likes to be upside down

    The Keyhole is always with the Gourami.....:knuddel:

    sounds like a Gourami bubble nest

    Looked at some pics. Thats alot compared to mine but looks the same. What exactly is it?

    the males make nests out of buddles in which they will spawn

    Your female might not be female afterall.
    They will deposit the eggs in the nest when spawning.
    The nest will get a lot bigger then just a few bubbles.

    it does indeed look like a female - it might still be young - watch it over time and see if the fin gets longer

    Looks female yes. Maybe she decided she will build her own nest if there is no males around :)

    Will do. Iv had her or him for about 5 or 6 months. When is it an adult?

    Am I wrong in thinking that upside down cats also build bubble nests??

    Some of the gouramis I had would go up for air but come down to fast and some of the air would escape. Covered in there saliva the bubble would not burst but hang around the tank for some time. So this may not be an intentional nest.

    Yeah could be. Rather that than a mixture between a keyhole and gourami:eek:, if thats even possible

    Nope, like most other 'upside-down' cats, these guys probably spawn in a cave or under other submerged structures.
