    Hi guys,

Happy to be hear. I currently have 3 discus pairs that will lay eggs once a week or so. I built a breeding tank where i moved one of my pairs there.

I had a total of 3 eggs hatch from that entire batch.

Here they are at the moment "The dad"

My water is at PH of around 8 and it has been for about a year as I use water from my tap. The GH is 6 and TDS is 87.

I want to know what I can do to get more success from hatching. At the end of the day they all turn dark and then on about day 3 they turn white.

I do have an RO unit and about 250L of RO water that we can use if needed

    Hi @Izak ,

    Welcome to the forum

Congratulations on the three babies.. I know its not much and you probably disappointed but its a start and better than many of us have done.

I am sure one of our discus keepers will soon offer some advice

I missed this post. Get your TDS to around 40-60ppm and try again. What you are seeing is eggs that die off because they where not fertilized. Lowering the hardness will give the male more time to complete the run. Minimize current in the tank during the spawn also. I switch off my filters and put it back on afterwards. If you still see white eggs after a day or two you can separate the pair with a clear divider so they can still see each other but can't reach. You then feed them well and after a month you wait for shaking and bowing. Once you see them bow and shake you pull the divider.
