    Hi all!

I am new to the forum, and are close to doing my first DIY project.

I recently acquired a multilevel stand, which I want to use for a breeding setup. The plan is to have a large sump on the bottom, with pump to the top tank, and then overflows into tank below, until back in sump.

My question: How will I know how the height of which the water needs to be pumped affect my flow rate? I do not want to buy a pump which cannot circulate enough.

    Please advise....

    Regards

    PB

There should be a graph on the box of most pumps that shows you what their litre per hour rating is for a certain height... you want a pump that have a good head height ie can pump water up higher.... i can recommend eheim compact 3000+ i used it to to pump water up 2.2m and it worked very well.

    Welkom to TASA!
Very interesting question you posed here.
The best is to look at different pump/specs and particular the flow rate at a specific head/height.
Perhaps some sponsors could climb in and help.

    Good luck!
