    blood worms
    micro worms
    Black worms

Yes they do. I usually have 4 cultures running. And every week you just make a new one.

you make a small layer on the bottom of the bakkie. Just wet the oats (not soaking that the water is running) and put say 3 swipes of cotton ear bud of the worms from another culture in the newly crated bakkie.

Leave it closed for a 5 days to a week and be amazed at all the worms climbing up the sides.

If you lucky, someone on the forum can give you a tip of a knife with worms and you set to start your own cultures.

But where is a excellent question :push:

the only thing is how to transport them long distance.
Will need a suitable container (plastic & small) for the start up culture

I'd definitely look into it if there is so many people looking to get.

Price wise is difficult... what is to much. R30 - R50 ??
    - Container
    - Food
    - Worms
    - Step by step explanation :p
    - Postage if far from Cape Town area

I can't be the only one that has micro worms :y:

Crazy store has little plastic containers for under R10 each to put the worms in, postage should cost under R20 per parcel, i don't mind covering your costs for materials and the trip to the post office and then a few rands extra for your trouble.
I guestimate a selling price of around R60 per culture.

Ok I'll do a bit of homework and see what would be suitable container.
Then try to start the cultures in them. Hopefully they will do fine in there. Then I'll take it one step further to get it out to you.

    So just bear with me...

    Hi everyone.
I also have some good worm cultures going.
    I have microworms and whiteworms.
The microworms I have had for a while and are doing great. My food for them is: bread, water, sugar and brewers yeast.
    This is how I feed:
Mix a cup of water with 1 teaspoon of sugar and add a pinch of brewers yeast.
Sprinkle a pinch of brewers yeast over existing culture.
Place piece of white bread over existing culture.
Sprinkle a pinch of brewers yeast over bread and wet with solution made earlier. Not too wet, just damp.
This works for me and my cultures literally explode after each feeding.

The white worms are a new addition and I am still getting to grips with raising them. They way that I am culturing them is based on the adivce of Prof Dirk:
The medium I am using is palm peat fibre that has been soaked in 5L water that has had 1 teaspoon of agricultural lime added. I feed them pronutro. They seem to be doing great and should hopefully be able to start a second culture in the next few weeks. The only thing is that they need to be kept cool.
You should always have more than 1 culture of live food going. I have heard of many instances where cultures have 'crashed'. If you have backups, it's easy to just start another.
I am also quite prepared to share cultures with others. If you are in Cape Town, then just give me a shout and you can come and collect.
I see that ACE has done some work on the 'upcountry' members, so I will leave that side of things to him.
Ace, I have some ideas about the postage.Let me know if you want to discuss in the topic or via PM.

Let me know if anyone needs more info.
