Dying from "shock".

    I moved some fish to different tanks and this two females and male escaped the floating container into a little colder water.

    I noticed immediately that the normally active females hid on the bottom of the tank, only swimming when I feed them. The one female died today and the other one also does not look well. They are quite old, very pregnant and very big - they are not handling the accident well. Luckily I got more than 200 fry from the two females. Here is a pic of them, the one female showing fungus/ich:

    Oh well, accidents do happen.

    She might drop prematurely .. and even pull though - it is rather common that moving a female that is near term does induce the drop.

    She did drop about 35 fry......, and she was not that sick- she ate about 30 of them!

    Will have to create better hiding places for fry in future.
