    Hi again
So I recently lost 2 of my female gourami not sure if a common disease passed on or if some else entirely, and I see another one being to do the same, the seem to bloated up size of balloons then died not long after.
I don't if I should move all them to the old smaller tank and move the rams to the main tank.

Should I remove the remaining dwarf gouramis? Is it going to spread to the other fish????

    @Lee,

    Sorry for your loss

Its very difficult to give advice as you haven't given us any info that could give us an idea of what could be happening

Tank size.. filtration... Have you checked your water parameters
Have you seen signs of bullying either amongst the gouramis or from other fish in the tank?
    What are you feeding?

Bloating is mainly caused by something and not a contagious disease however if something is causing it in the tank it can affect any fish, besides they are in the tank already so you need to establish the cause so you can stop it

Thanks it said I love dwarf gouramis, I never seen and bulling from any other fish after I gave a my mollies away after they killed my other gourami and other fish, the tank 3ft the filter in internal stage 3 the ones from Rebel pet. Ive had the gourami for a few months now. and I test my water all are perfectly and I do it regularly. (also before and after water changes)
As for food terta prima mini granules and pro energy crisp ones and either bloodworms once a week as a treat or daphnia. And sundays there don't eat at all.

As far as water goes.. maybe just post the actual results when you test again

Feeding.. they are omnivores and do eat a small amount of worms and insects on the surface of the water but I thing they predominantly algae/vegetable matter eaters
Just check the composition of the Tetra Prima and the pro energy crisps that they are not too high protein
There are a number of foods that are more vegetable based... so check labels of what you using

Will do, I just did another test before all level are fine I even checked my other tank water in case there was a fault, but there water okay slightly higher as I did a small water change earlier, as for the food was recommended by a breeder on this site the food was a better option to what I had with my previous one that the mollies killed. and I checked the protein levels and all these things, before I used to checking ingredients for my reptiles, Oh I also forgot I do veg for the at time. (carrots and cucumber). Looks like my other female starting to swell up to.
I moved them into a small tank just in case but my blue dwarf gourami female seems fine yet there still 5cm for now but not the normal plain ones.
Should I give them more bloodworms than just once a week?

@Lee... so.. what did you test for.. what did you use to test and what exactly are the readings of your tests?

I have no idea what you mean here quote:
' I even checked my other tank water in case there was a fault, but there water okay slightly higher as I did a small water change earlier"

    I checked for
ph level, hardness, nitrate, alkalinity, ammonia, all the test.
I do test every second day or after few hours of water change

Can someone do a template, with a list of relevant questions - to ask. So when someone needs help it will be a little easier to assist if they fill in the template. eg

    PH level -
    Amonia level -
    Temperature -
    Symptoms-

    etc.

    Just an idea.

    Hi @BradK

There is a questionnaire however people seldom use it and as you can see from the replies above, we still not getting the answers to the questions asked

I spoke to my cusion friend who's working with fish, she sent him a video clip of the one that boalted and said it could be dropsy he recommended add a bit of sea salt so far she seem to be doing a bit better I thought when I switch the lights on I would found both female dead. But the one that really bad seems a lot better already.

Lee, I am afraid you're encountering Dwarf Gourami Disease. A viral issue in DG's from South East Asia. It open the immune system after some time making thenfish die of all kind of infections.

    It is untreatable ans incurable.

I had this with most of my dwarf gourami. Had 6 to start with and in the first week 3 died from these symptoms. My tank water was perfect and no matter how many medications or salt baths I tried it didn’t work. I love them but wouldn’t get them again.
