recently went to dubai for 2 wks with my fiance.. amazing what u can do with LOADS of cash!

i wanted to visit some.. but when i asked, my bro in-law (he lives there) looked at me with a confused look and my fiance was not too chuffed apparently clothes and sight seeing were more NB

 

He,he....Sometimes we have to keep the "non-fishy" people happy too...lol

 

That tank is OK'ish but tetras will not survive in there so I wont be getting one

 

IMAGINE if this was a tetra tank! omg.. OR if takashi amano got hold of this tank!! hehe..

 

Can you imagine the monthly cost on this thing. probably way more than what I make in a year.

 

The heating alone would introduce rolling blackouts again 'cos Eishkom wont be able to cope..lol

 

The whale shark tank is in Japan. That pane is the biggest single piece of acrylic in the world and its also ~30cm thick.

Shihr, did you do the rest of the tour? They have some very intersting FW species. How often did you get lost in Dubai mall? Its f'in huge!

 

well in dubai, its so hot they need coolers instead.. costs electricity none the less..

is it? i didn know that there was more because i thought paying R200 was just to walk through that tunnel? the mall was HUGE. but it seemed like the woman knew it like the back of their hands.. i just followed and carried the bags hehe..

Yes! There were FW tanks upstairs. When you finished on the big tank, there were escalators next to a jungle themed restaurant, go up those and there was another entrance on the RHS with a gift shop. Upstairs they had stuff like Araipama and spoonbills

 

i know where u talking abt..oh well.. theres always a next time.. my fiance's sister lives there so we can always visit again

 

Iv seen the whale shark at the Atlantis Aquarium in January last year 2010, it wasn't a really big shark though seemed pretty small , at first i didn't recognize it, Until it swam close by the glass, it seemed to spend much of its time at the top. Tried taking a pic of him, but the water seemed really dark.(3rd pic towards the top)
A friend has since told me that its been freed.
Atlantis is still an awesome Aquarium though !
With Some amazingly colorful tanks.
The there was one massive Pirana tank, Filled with thousands of lovely neon and cardinal tetras , i was told though that thay are used to feed the piranas,probably true cos the next day there werent that many swimming around ;/

dammit man.. nice for pushing it in my face guys haha.. we did the tour bus thing and we didn even know that the aquarium at atlantis was free so we didn go in.. also we thought we were going to go back anyways for the water rides.. then we realised we were broke

oh well always next time.. i think we have to go to dubai every year now as its a transit to Taiwan plus we have to visit my fiancee's sister nice excuses dont u think ? haha
