MY blue betta died of dropsy.
And now my crowntail male betta has dropsy!!!:(
How do I save him? He must not die. I have lost too many bettas.
He was in 46 a breeding tank with lots of floating plants and a female betta.
I was worried because he did not want to breed. And then i saw that the scales where not smooth.
He is now in another 46 tank with a rooibos tea bag.
I will try and get a pic of him.
    Please help!!!!

If it is real dropsy and his scales are already raised there is no saving him.Would love for someone to prove me wrong but that is just how it is. I think however that you have some bacterial problem. Your one betta gotDropsy, another pop eye and now another dropsy. You would have to look at your water quality aswell and what you are feeding.Someone posted a name of some meds that apparently cure dropsy. Will see if I can find it.

I have done water changes in all my tanks now.
I feed all my fish tetra prima the one with the blue top.
My bettas get their food 4 times a week.

    Thanks for the info @Vis

Dropsy is often a symptom of inferior water quality. I would also invest in a better brand of medication. Remember all brands of medication has a sell by date - always check when you buy!

I get popeye from time to time in my tank too. It seems to me that once a bacteria is present in the system, it is almost impossible to eradicate.

And as Vis says, it's unfortunately too late with a lot of diseases. Once the fish has obvious symptoms, the disease is well progressed and can't be cured.

I have used Octozin by Waterlife, it seems to delay the inevatable, but not comlpetely cure it.
