what type of dried food is everyone using and why?i'v been using Tetras cchlid sticks for years for my bigger fish but now with the new inhabitants i'v started experimenting with different types and not really finding any joy really.i'v tried hikari sinking pellets and now hikari flakes but neither impressed me.

For my general tropicals I use about 3 different foods on a rotation basis.

Tetra Prima granules as a staple.
And then Tetra Colour Crisps and Tetra flake every second day.

@oscar freak, try the Tetra sinking wafers. My fish absolutely love them. I often see some of my tetras swimming around with one in it's mouth with several others chasing it to snatch it from him if they can. My dwarfs enjoy them and they are looking healthy and full of colour. I also use the Aquaplus Cichlid granules, they sink and all my fish love these too. I then do my own mix of dried food flakes and granules, e.g. Tetra Vegetable flakes, Tetra Colour flakes, Tetra Crisps, Tetra Flake, Aquaplus Tropical Flakes, Qualikoi Mini Floating Pellets and a few others I can't remember... This works well for all my fish because I have amazing growth from all my fish, @A. Bauer (Aletta) can attest this for me...

Oh I forgot.... Every second day they get either frozen bloodworm, daphnia or brine shrimp

The BGK's get special pellets, the others try and climb in on that, but they eat their treats pretty quickly...

i have recently been using the profs aetemia flake ,in the few days of using it ,it doesnt make it to the substrate! i alternate this with jbl discus granules and tetramin flakes, midday its veggie time steamed garden spinache and deshelled frozen peas
(also steamed a bit) ground in a meat grinder and frozen in sheets, this is for vitamin c as my fish dont seem to like eating the green coloured flakes but they wolf this down,my corries and ansestris love it too.night is frozen dinner time alternating aetemia, blood worm ,crab and a couple others when i have them.

as you all have probably read flake food has a shelf life ,so best to keep it in the freezer as the prof suggests
