    Hi All,

    Quick question on dosing pumps...

Does anyone know what voltage/amps rating the motors are that is used for dosing pumps?

Also, the heads, is there a special fitting that makes it connect to the motor is is it just one connected unit?

Any info will be greatly appreciated :D

    Laters,

    How did you know?!?!?!?! :p

You read my mind! I already bought the Arduino starter kit.... buy going through the exercises now. Then I'll start the same build.

    Thanks

Hahaha.... Nice one. Also just bought one. And also busy with the projects....But for now I want to control my temp, lighting and water levels. Came across this project when I was searching for mine. Maybe also add that later on... Good luck with yours.... Will maybe pick your brain a little later on in my efforts.....

    Regards

Sure, we can bounce ideas off each other.... I don't know much about electronics, but I have been programming for more than a decade....

That's also good news to me. I'll be able to do the electronics but have no clue on the programming side.... :)

Code seems simple enough .... could even expand it to allow for multi-tank dosing. Would love to run this on a I2C per DC motor .... then on a 2 pair you could probe for temp and do the dosing, hmmm

Hi Ferdie. Thanks for chipping in. I forgot you have been using a arduino on some of your tanks for a while now.... How is your logging going and have you added anything else in the meantime?
Ps sorry I'll stop hijacking now... :)

Lol - I have 1/2 another project on the bench , RPi in the wings and the original code running without a flaw or modification still just LCD, logging temp, humidity via RTC to SD card.

Been keeping an eye on other probes would love to get CO2 but the calibration is not for me.

something like Breakout Board for PCF8575 I2C Expander - BOB-08130 - SparkFun Electronics or I think I prefer this I2C and Step DC / Stepper motor controller to address the motors ?

Not sure about the 1.2A @ 35V max, but if this is correct then the BV4213 might be the ticket for 12v pumps ....
    Later Ferdie

The coding is very simple... plain old C code.

You can also see if you can find the correct voltage regulator for the pumps if the voltage is a problem?

Me personally... I would use a normal 12v motor and have it turn for a set amount of time. From there you can also tweak the voltage to get the desired amount/second.... dunno what the minimum operating voltage is though.
