    Hi guys

I found an Assassin Snail in one of the tanks at my LFS and they gave it to me for free because they didn't even know they had it. He started eating straight away, which I am happy about.

My question now is in the thread heading. I want a pair of Kribensis for my tank, but I don't want to starve the Assassin.

    Any advice/information for me?

    Thanks
    Luke

Why would adding Kribs starve the assassin?

Because Assassins eat other snails... and Kribensis (like most other fish) would eat baby snails while they are still small enough with soft shells given the chance.
If the other snails reproduce faster than the Kribensis and Assassins can eat then, then the Assassins won't starve.

The Assassins are carnivores, ans specialise in eating other snails.
They will also eat any other meaty products.
I feed mine frozen bloodworm once a week.

I suppose a Krib might peck on the odd young snail.
But have not seen them listed as a fish one would use to control pest snails.

Feed the assassins other things. Mine eat fish food, bloodworms and even algae wafers at times. They also eat the detritus worms in the substrate.

Yes, this is what works for me too. I have zero snails (Assassins cleared them out) and once a week after the water change I drop a bloodworm in each tank. I only have small fish so they don't get to it all and the remaining pieces get gobbled up by the snails.

Yeah, exactly that. Mine is more of an opportunist really, more than an outright snail predator :)
