@Fishlips nice to see you active again. How have you been?

Are you planning on keeping any livestock?

The tub is 150 liters, running a simple sponge filter...

Im using a 10 watt cfl but its getting replaced soon with a 20 watt.

Im also using pool filter sand as a substrate.

Then for plants, im using a delicius monster, a type of lilly, and water lillys, and then also my umbrella plant.

Then inside the pond im using creeping Jenny / moneywort submerged, and valls.

Also running diy co2 on the setup

    Welcome back.
    That tank looks nice.
How many more do you have, and what are they stocked with?

Very nice pond! I'm really loving what people can do with ponds lately...they are much more versatile than I ever imagined...keen to setup one of my own outdoors too. :)

Hi @Fishlips do you have natural light coming in during the day? I am just curious how you manage to get enough illumination from a CFL of that output. I would put up a 300W LED floodlight if it were mine, in absence of sunlight. But that said, it is actually quite a nice idea and setup you have there. I would chuck the goldfish and put in white clouds or threadfin rainbows, but that's just me ;-).

Hi, yes it does get natural light as well. But the plants arent that demanding apart from the lilly pads.

    Thank you for the compliment

Wow that's a nice one. I've been wanting to build a pond and this gives me a good idea of how to start one. My only concern is that with the winter temps, the water will freeze up (for the past 3 winters here in the Mooi necks, there have been recorded temps up to -17*C with ice in the buckets and sometimes the water at the back of the shed freeze up). At one time, I turned on the hose pipe and popped out ice blocks for a good while.
