DIY CO2 help needed

Hey guys, its been a while..

So I recently decided to start up a DIY CO2 system on my 80L.

I'm using a 2L bottle with the mixture being 2 cups of sugar, 2 and little teaspoons of yeast ( Anchor instant yeast ), and the same amount of baking soda.

Heres the problem, I've tried this 3 times and no times has it worked. The first time I had no bubbles and I let it run for about 20 hours.. 2nd time I had a bubble every 13 seconds, which was building no pressure and only releasing a tiny bit of bubbles every like 20 seconds.. And now I'm on for my third try, set it up about 1 hour ago and it's producing bubbles around every 3-4 seconds. I need faster production. Could it be weak yeast or a bad recipe? Should I just add another system, which will cost more.

I've already almost used a 2.5kg bag of sugar which my mom is not to fond off.. Personal advice would be greatly appreciated.

#UPDATE!

The new CO2 mixture is actually doing great! The bubbles are coming in and it's working nicely, so =D

Btw this, A Treatise on DIY CO2 Systems for Freshwater-Planted Aquaria, is the most comprehensive article about DIY CO2 I've ever come across, it's a long but interesting read.
