    Hi Guys

Need advice, I am going to build a canopy out of 4mm plywood.
I did some reading and some forums suggest sealing the inside with
exterior plaint. I want to paint it white.

Is this the best of ideas? Just scared the evaporation that falls back in the thank might cause issues?

You definitely need to seal it otherwise it will absorb moisture and start to swell and rot.

I'm not sure what you could use to seal it with but any water resistant paint should be fine.

I'm thinking that since you are going the DIY route it would probably be best to line the inside with some sort of aluminium foil or other material so that you have a reflector to get the maximum out of your lights. If done properly then thats your sealing done :) Kill 2 birds with one stone

I use gp resin and let it air for a couple of days due to smell and fumes. Nice part is it gets into all the joints as it starts of as a liquid and then hardens.

General purpose resin, one can buy from a hardware store. It starts as a liquid and gets hard. Nice part is its pretty flexable aswell. I used on my lids and there was no water penetrating the wood. 2 to 3 decent coats works well.

Just remember, mix in batches as it has a reaction and quick curing time and make sure to buy a few brushes cause you can only use brushes once!
