    Found this little one dead this morning! Last night and all day yesterday it had been fine and feeding.

    It's got this red spot on its head? Could it be an injury or is it some kind of disease?

    It's an established tank, 3 water changes a week. No new fish introduced in months, no changes made.

    I have seachem ammonia alert discs in my tanks but will quickly do a manual test just to be sure.

    @Dinky if it is an established tank with other in-mates, Ammonia poisoning would have occurred to the others. You need to investigate more

    @Warr7207

    Thank you very much.

    As an afterthought, could my pleco be responsible for this somehow?

    Hemorrhage also came to my mind but if I read up on it and look at the pictures, it doesn't stick. Hemorrhage however, also comes up with regards to Ammonia poisoning.

    The leaches mentioned in one of the links alerted me to the possibility that my pleco may be responsible somehow. Read up on that and found that it does sometimes happen. :notrust:

    I've plastered my nose against the tank wall and all my other fish are doing well. They all fed this morning as well (that's how I noticed the Molly being gone - he didn't come to feed and he LOVES his food)

    Ammonia levels came in at 0.1 - alert is supposed to step in at 0.05 but then again, matching colours with the drops leaves much to be desired.

    Well, I've reverted to the when in doubt, do a water change. I did a very big water change and added a little bit extra prime.

    I'm seriously hoping this was an isolated incident...
