    Hi All,

Just posted this on one of the international forums and thought it may be of some use here.

Last week I embarked on a tank move - across the lounge... In the process I changed the substrate - went from black (Lava Stone) to light (silicate) - the difference is amazing! If you like your Turqs dark and moody, keep them on a dark substrate. On light they are all much more vibrant, the PB's have less peppering too (as stated above).

I have attached a before and after pic of the tank as well as my juvie "Red spotted Green" (don't want to start that debate again), but the colour difference is most significant on it.

Between them and the Banjo's who dove straight in - they all seem a lot happier with the 'softer' substrate.

that was a good move. lighter does look a lot nicer, the lighter substrate reflects more light which make the discus look bright. hey enjoy
    cheers doug
