Discus and severums?

Does anyone know if discus and severums will be ok together?

 

My oppinion is that Discus go with Discus and a couple of Tetras or so....Although severums are generally peacefull,they still exibit agro behaviour when settling into pairs and breeding wich will freak the discus out royaly....Also the severums wont realy take to the warm water that the discuss need....But yeah,if you got loads of cash and can build a MONSTROUS sized aquarium(Read like 2500l + ),you might try it....Other than that,cant realy see it workind --> my 2 cents worth....

 

Hi Oosie, Azurekoi is right, that combination is just going tot get you into trouble. Severums are also peacefull, but at feeding time they will be less shy and attack the food, leaving little for the Discus to get. Soon you have under nourished Discus and the problems will just start increasing. Discus can be kept with only a few other species without problems for either, and they are all smaller than Discus. In my tanks sometimes its hard to believe Discus are labelled 'peacefull', but as soon as a fish pose too much competition for them they hide and struggle to stay alive. Rgds, Marco

 

Severums definately dont mix with discus, they bully the discus and i know this from experience.
