Same as my other questions guys what would be the best option. I heard the digital ones are inaccurate and the normal ones are prone to breaking if you bump them too hard. What about the stick on ones.

I just replaced mine as the old mercury one was out about by 3 degrees c so they can also be wrong. Much of a muchness IMHO stick on ones just confuse my poor old eyes with 3 or 4 temps highlighting and changing colour.

I've tried them all and I now have 2-3 of the mercury ones in my tanks to keep an eye on the temps. Much closer to each other than the digitals and stick on jobs.

Mercury ones. Digital ones are reliable, but they just don't last long. My digital which has been in my tank for 3 months needed a battery change this weekend, and the screen isn't displaying properly. I'm not sure it the tank is 27 or 28

Medical grade mercury thermometers are pretty accurate. You can get those from Dischem.

Ha ha ha..This comment made me think of my latest attempt at a thermometer. I bought one of those under the togue digital child thermometers. When I stuck it in my tank it kept giving me an error. Then I realised that your baby should not have a temperature of 27 degrees and that the thermo couldn't read so low. Doh!
