    Hi Salim,

Tank buddies Parasite clear works yes. Gets rid of flukes and some intestinal worms. I use it as a 30 to 50 minute dip. You also have to use levamisole. (present in Dovaworm) to get rid of roundworm. 2mg per liter. It kills filter bacteria though so watch out. You can also mix some Dovaworm and water, leave some fish food in it to soak it up and then feed this to the fish once a day, 5 days in a row.

    Hi Salim,

Do not treat for worms if you are not 100% sure they have them.
You'll do more harm than good.

    Hi Salim,

Just like with dogs/cats, I think Discus should be dewormed at least twice annually. Some experts suggest every 3 to 4 mths.

I agree with Mattie that one shouldnt indiscriminently medicate fish. However, with food we feed, water changes and new inhabitants the possibilities of fish getting re-infected with worms are quite high. Worms/intestinal parasites inhibit growth and lead to weakened immune systems.

So @salim, its your call. One thing I learned from @Altum, and this is a personal opinion I have adapted to, is whatever you do, add or remove from your Discus population, it should invariably leave you with a STRONGER population! So, if you have 10 and deworming causes the death of one, but the rest improve 50%, your population, though smaller has become stronger.

I do accept many will differ from this view, yet it has improved the overall quality of MY fish.
