    Hi

What kind of desktop tanks do we get here in Sa?
It need to be the ones with fitted filter and heater build in, a all in one tank.
Something you can put on your desk and maybe keep a betta or a few Neons so no smaller than at least 10L.

Some names of products would be appreciated. Must be local.

    Thanks

I bought a small tank, a separate heater and small hob for my desktop tank. Works great and the cost was really little.

Also have some of those but I would like everything to go into one plug and I want to create a little scape inside so want the heater and filter out of the way.

I remember seeing a Jebo (I think) one like that but I stand to be corrected on the make.

What size you looking for ??? there's tonnes out there tbh but Jebo seems to be the most popular. Also look at Boyu if you can, I have a Boyu tank, well built :)

Vis I have 2 nano's, 1 9G Weipro (Aquamedic to the rest of the world), this is the planted and it cost R2000, my Boyu 15G (my marine) cost about R2500 with the stand, seems expensive but they do come with everything so its pretty much plug and play (well if you are going the FW route, SW requires some modding).

What I can say though, if you check out the local marine forums you can get Nano's for super cheap. I have seen my Boyu selling for R500 !!! So it pays to look around :)

There's one link, dunno if teh tanks have been sold yet but converting them to FW is a breeze :)

Have been looking around there, but very little has surfaced. Smallest I saw was the TL550.

Ok was thinking R1000 or less.

Please let me know if you see one up for sale that I might miss.

I think tetra also makes a desktop all in one, anyone seen them here.

I have a small Jebo R338 that's standing in my son's bedroom. I bought it for R250 complete of Gumtree. It is perfect for a desktop tank. And I'm really amazed at the rate the plants is growing in it.

There is a drip filter in the canopy with 2 small 8watt lights (Which is more than enough). I wired everything to one plug as the lights have their own switch build in.

    Found this link

I must be honest, the Boyu's are waaaaaaaaaaay better than either the Tetra's or the Jebo's so rather spend the extra cash. I'll keep my eyes open though :) Also Junk Mail and Gumtree are good places to looks, just search for aquarium Nano.

    Thats a nice find Franna.

Amazing what people are coming up with, but obviously with that comes a bit of a price.
If you know your wood works you could build this costing minimum (Electronics excluded)

Tetra Aqua Art tanks start at 30 litres, but are quite expensive. It comes with a built in light and a small hang on filter.

    Very nice.
