Got a couple of black rili shrimp a while back.

Some of them are dying but turned a orange pink color.

What is the cause of this

    Hi,

What do you have in your tank? How is it cycled. Need some more detail regarding what is in your tank and how the condition of the water is.

What type of black shrimp are they? From what I've researched over time is that specific breeds of fresh water shrimps need RO water. What is your PH levels at now?

Definitely check PH level, think PH must be between 6.2-6.6 (Soft water)

What other shrimps you have there? Cant mix all the Shrimp, they don't all have the same water requirements. Cherries for example can live in harder water (PH 7-7.6) and Bee Shrimp at softer water (6.2-6.6)

Take a sample of your water to a local pet shop to test the PH level, normally they charge about R10 or sometimes even free

A stable pH is more important than exact pH levels.
I have shrimp in various tanks, and the pH ranges from 6.2 up to 7.8 in the various tanks.
The shrimp are thriving in all the tanks, with berried females and juveniles seen permanently in all the tanks.

How would i know what ph levels they prefer. Isn't all rili shrimp the same, just a different color?

Are your new shrimp not maybe crystal bee shrimp and not neos? If they are you need to drop the temp to 24c or below.

I've been struggling with my crystal reds since I got them in Nov/Dec. My water stays at 25c and above and have lost most one by one. I've ruled out everything else here, must be the high temps.
