OK so this is on behalf of my sister, she's got a 20l tank with 3 guppies and a batch of baby (young rather) black apple snails. Today a ton of Daphnea (atleast we think it's that) suddenly appeared in her tank the snails are crawling out and the guppies ignore them, (at first I thought they were simply stuffed with them, and put some in my tank but my ramirezi only spit them out?) any reason this could be? Or have we mos identified the plague? Some pics below (can't seem to attach videos?) [IMG][IMG][IMG]

What do they look like underwater? Little black dots buzzing around?

Second one is definitely a seed shrimp. First might be some protozoan. No clue!

Any idea on how to combat these guys? They are quite literally harassing the snails, and the fish don't seem to hunt them down? We did a large water change and scooped out as much as we could.

Mine peacefully coexisted with snails. That's quite unusual to hear.

Could it be due to bad water quality

I also suspect there is excess food in the aquarium, however my sister is trying hard not to change water chemistry (it avoids lines forming in the shells of the snails) and keeps a very rigorous water-changing and feeding schedule. We are going to try reduced feeding to see if we can crash the colony of whatever-it-is-bugs...

I had them proliferate in a tank with no added food, where my snails also proliferated prolifically! Seed shrimp won't harass snails

Hope this works, just uploaded to YouTube and shared this link...
The snail is clearly annoid and is pulling into it's shell as soon as it is hit by one of these bugs...
