After reading I have decided that I am going to setup my tank using PFP. I will use PFP cap it with gravel and then playpen sand. The question I have is can I do a fishless cycle?
My understanding is the fish are there to supply waste for ammonia but as PFP has ammonia in it they should not be required.

I'm not to sure if there is ammonia in pfp. The only definite way to monitor the cycle process, is to measure the rise and fall of ammonia and nitrite levels with a test kit. Your LPS can help with this if you don't want to buy the kit.

If you are willing to spend money on test kits you might as well get seachem stability right from the start

Thanks. I intend getting my own test kit as soon as I can.
