    He needs the water sooner rather than later.
    Tank is empty?

    @MadHatter
    Can you not get a few drops out of the bottle?

    That's weird... maybe the city uses chloramine... which would give off ammonia

    @Reedfish, it pretty much is..

    @Hendre, they do use chloramine, forgot the name haha. But thats the one. Takes longer than chlorine to dissipate

    @MadHatter do you have any activated carbon lying around? Can also be useful in a pinch. You'll need a bit of it (if there is chloramine, it'll use up the carbon a lot faster than the chlorine can), hang it in a bag, put it in the bucket of water you'll be using, and aerate/agitate the water.

    In either case it might be more useful to ask other members for either a water conditioner to borrow, rather than the actual water. Just thinking in terms of disease, as well as the fact you'd be rendering your water change useless.

    I can help you with some Prime if you can come through to me.
    Also in Centurion (Hennopspark)
    Will 5ml Prime help? My bottle is just about empty as well, and need to get more soon.

    You can't use straight RO, no KH or GH. The waste also contains a little chlorine with these household models. You'll have to cut with tap or waste water. In an emergency it will be fine though as it will take a while for the kh and gh to go down to far with pure RO.

    If you have plants RO water is the worste thing you can do to your plants. There is almost no mineral and yo plants and fish will soon have serious deficiencies. Plus the KH of the water will be dangerously low and it won't be long before you have a PH crash. The Mariners use RO water because they add Salt to it and that is the best way to make sure the salt/water ratio is perfect. I did a study on RO water myself as I considered it but after I was done I was convinced RO is not the way to go unless you need a pure base before adding minarels to the water. Some people actually do this for a Malawi tank too as they need extremely hard alkaline water and you actually get a additive from Seachem to add to RO water for Malawi type of tank.

    I only use RO for breeding to get to a desired TDS and to top up my CRS tank as to not change the KH and GH.
