After my first batch of Rainbow boesmani fry hatched, my infusoria culture was lagging and @TheGrissom was kind enough to help me out. I am happy to say that I now have a small-ish batch of 30 - 40 juveniles growing out. Will be feeding bbs soon.

Eventually, I managed to get my infusoria culture going. I compiled a brief video with tips that worked for me during this process. These are not absolutes, just some tips I felt worthwhile sharing.

Thank you. Yes it did really start smelling  which is why I eventually had to add something to stop the flies from falling in. But it is worth it since it doesnt cost anything really and it is such a good starter food.

I tried my own culture a while ago.
And the smell was why I shut it down.
Switched to feeding my fry crumbed egg yolk, right from hatching

I can highly recommend vinegar eels. very little smell, easy to culture and feed, no mess, no fuss, no risk of fouling up the tank. I dont bother with anything else for fry.

The crumbed egg yolk really helped me too, until I got help with some vinegar eels and banana worms. But my vinegar eel culture was still lagging a bit so didnt want to harvest from it.

Another thing that worked for me was Daro's fry food for egg layers. It's a fine powdered product that I dissolve in some water in a shot glass. If you draw the top cloudy water extract and feed that, it also works well. And Daro's fry food is really inexpensive as well.
