Well...if it is a slow leak (as you say)... there's a good chance that silicon sealer on the inside smeared over the position of the crack (leak) will stop the leak.... Convicts do not last long in a bucket, so get some strong aeration in there.... you guys in Roodepoort are lucky and will have some pet store open on Sundays, so you should be able to get hold of silicon..... You won't have to wait long before you refill with water.. (1 hour is enough)..... just ensure that you use the water in the bucket first when you refill and fill up very slowly.... maybe only 20% per day until the tank is full again.

What size tank do you have? Just measure the bottom Glass(LxW)
    I might have replacement glass.

as you can see the crack is on;y 6cm and what i was thinking was to stick a small square of glass over in ,in the tank and with silicon and then stick an L shaped frame thing around the out side

I also had the same problem with one of my tanks, i used a small piece of glass to cover the crack with silicon. It worked for me...

This morning when I woke up and went outside........ This is what was left. Only the front and right side is still in tact.
