couple of question

hi

last week i fine got a bolivian ram after a few problem get unfortunately both of pass away i still thing the reason this happen is do to courier service (i also order the same day for anther place came all with in the same all those fish are all still alive) i was told it would be delivered that day got them the next day they did seem active and did seem interested in eating wednesday i found both of them died. i did try and contacted the retailer purchase them to let them known what happened haven't heard back, so i found a pair closer so i dont have to wait for them to send by courier, but i i have a few questions can i possibility of housing bolivian ram with my dwarf gourmais? and another question how can i keep my tank warm enough during power out yesterday we where out for 10 hours?
I've also considered getting german ram but the only thing that im worried about keep the higher temperature special with all the low shedding.

 

@Lee.. this load shedding is driving everyone crazy...

You can invest i a UPS that can cope with your heater and pumps.. not sure what that would cost though or a small generator
Im not sure of the size of your tank but if its a smallish tank you dont need a big generator

You can also try cover your tank with a blanket or one of those First Aid blankets

 

Hi, how big is your tank
You can keep your tank heated by putting boiling or hot water in a plastic bottle and let that heat it up, or you can use calcium chloride and mix that with water in a bottle,or you can get a hand warmer and tape that to the side, the bottles warm up the water faster
You want to get a portable bubbler(forgot it’s name) that you can buy at a fishing shop for live bait, this will help with giving the fish oxygen and helping with ammonia

All the above mentioned tips are worth trying and work

I dont know what size tank you have and what temperature you usually keep it at and how much and to what temperature its dropping to
Running your tank at slightly higher temps while this is going on, will also help the tank to take longer to cool and maybe give you an extra degree when it cools down
