good idea? bad? will the corys get harrased by the betta?

I think it might be ok since the bettas sort of stay at the top of the tank and the corys are bottom feeders?

say I have a +-2ft planted tank with one male betta, how many panda corys can I keep? 5? 6?

will the corys be ok at 25degC and with the low water flow the betta wants?
internal filter with spraybar be ok? or would I need something that can accommodate an airstone?

    Hi Anine
    That combo should be fine.
I would go for 6 of them.
26'c and an internal filter, try minimise the water movement and use a canopy over the tank.
This will keep the air above the water line warm for the betta to breath.

    Hi Anine

It sometimes depend on the betta. I had some betta that would simply not
leave the corrys alone, one that tried them twice and left them alone and one that thought
    he was a cory :)

But with a 2FT tank and 6 corries I think you have a very good chance that
    they will be Ok

I hear ya Vis, my current betta is very aggressive, I'm nervous about my fingers in the water! he's definitely not getting any tankmates.

but I'm catching the dreaded MTS and thinking a 2fter isnt THAT much bigger than my 30cm and it means a new betta and some adorable panda corys! so will look for a calmer betta then.

Sorry about the hijack but I was always under the impression that panda corys preferred cooler water to more common corys like bronze etc.

Your idea sounds great. What sort of plants were you thinking of keeping?

firefly, you're right. a quick google tells me the pandas prefer cooler temps. 21-24, which the betta wont like.
