What would you guys say, is an acceptable price for this bare secondhand tank?

its a corner tank, apparently had a plastic lid originally ( which broke, so it seems the size might be standard? )

the height is about 60 cm estimated
the back panels are estimated at 50 cm?

its a tank that a fellow working with me had retired after he suffered some major fish losses, left the hobby. he originally paid 550 for it from petstop...

dont wanna jippo a R50 price thumbsucking, but i have no idea what price this tank should fetch, what do you say?

Yeah - looks like the standard tank - height of glass is 55 cm with lid would make it 60cm. The leather grain lid typically had a ballast for a 15 Watt - but I find the light to weak for the depth. Shops now sell this with a leather grain base. New probably +- R800.

Works nicely next to the LCD screen on my desk. Filtration has always been its biggest draw back- since anything you add to the tank will consume volume - If you are going to make a custom hood - you can add the filtration into the hood or make space for a HOB.

Second hand - R200 depending on silicon condition ...

silicone still fine apparently. What is the volume on these? Height was measured by him yesterday. 55.5cm and back panel lengths at 49cm. Dunno if ill take the tank just now. First fix up the 3ft oldy. . But its something ill keep in mind for later.

I have one that I have to redo and it is almost the same size as the one you are talking about.
I paid R100 for it...... No lid or any extras and The silicone is not at all good.. have to strip the tank and redo it all...
so if I were you I would go have a look and see what it looks like and depending what you get with it Maybe R200 or R250 not more than that ( my Opinion)

    thanks for the input man.
i am gonna see if i have any bonsai that i'm willing to part with and ask him if he's willing to trade maybe, (that way i save money...) but giving away something you've been working on so long isn't easy... i think in money terms, R200 is the highest i need to go, he wasn't looking for more than a tentative 200. i'll see how things go

    lol
    not really
all i got is a 2ft 3ft and small octagon really. i'm aiming to replace my 2ft with the 3ft a got, and the very very small octagon with this corner tank. i i'm not really willing to allocate more space to MOAR tanks, so i just want to upsize what i have. 3 ft was given to me, 2ft was an old one we had long time, and the octagon my mum bought a few years ago along with about 6 goldfish, as she wanted it as an office decoration... pffft. after 3 goldfish died inna week or so, i got the other 3 which i added to our pond outside, where they lived for 3 or 4 years, the octagon was then used as a very mini green house for a bonsai, for a month, then i realised at that size, the temp in the tank raises way too high, and almost killed a tree of mine. so it too was retired and packed away

The maximum i can go is a 4foot and its width can be 50cm max. . Thats what will fit on the cabinet i have. The other tank can be max 80x40x40. Thats the counter space i have and the corner can be max 60x60x60 triangle with height of 35. Those are my limits. .
