Hi all, not been on here for a while but have a question? I have two Cories and recently noticed that one of them is unusually large, not sure if it's a male or a female thought and if she's bloated or getting ready to spawn?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Really hard to say Jobbo. Female Peppers can be huge !!! Two pics of my latest addition albino Pepper "Alba".
Is it acting normal? What are you feeding? Think about adding some more !! [IMG][IMG]

Thanks for the reply, how can I tell if it's a male or a female?

    The size and chubbyness.
Females are quite bigger than males.
First sight Id say this is a female

Ahhh ok, ta. I've been mixing the food from flakes to frozen blood worms.

If she is about to spawn, the male will usually be chasing her around to fertilize the eggs.

By the way, if she spawns in your community tank, you can scrape the eggs off the glass with a razor blade and dump them in a small cycled tank with a sponge filter. I did this 10 days ago and 30% survived. You can feed with powdered quality flake or granular dried food.
