I thought I mights share this with you all.

I noticed this morning that my coridoras is laying eggs. I dont know how much she has layed but this is what I found.

But unfortunatly my guppys in the tank found that the eggs was food and ate allot of them. I managed to save some of the eggs by putting it in a breeding tank (thanks altum).

This 2 coridoras doing their 'mating dance' I never seen before and for me as a only 5 month old fishkeeper was in 7th heaven for witnessing this. I sat next to the tank for almost 2 hours just......... just watching them doing their thingy.:p:bigsmile:

    :love::ridinghorse:

She layed her eggs against the 1 heater and most of them against the glass of the tank.

I also took some photos of her carring the eggs in her 2 fins where the male fertilized it and she yentley stiked it against the glass.

Sorry the photos is of poor quality was taken with my cell.

    Hope you enjoy!:blink1:

    Cats and Kittens in Koffiefontein!

and you want to know how to grow Glossostigma carpets, WHILE your cats wanna have some fun!!?
We'll burn THAT bridge when we cross it:p

There's no need to add more Albino Corydoras aeneus (Bronze Corydoras)
Unless you mean more Corydoras in general?

There's a great chance of a repeat performance, in 2-3weeks, within 12-24h of a nice waterchange of a few degrees difference(cooler usually).

So, learn from this, and ask questions...look where it's getting you.

Well conditioned cory cats, nice and plump.

    Knap gedaan, Amanda!

    Stripes,

I am so jealous!!! Cory's are one of my favourite fish, and I have 5 of them. Been hoping to get a spawn, but I also read somewhere that Cory's are very difficult to breed in captivity.

    You are so lucky!

When you do a water change, make sure your water is slightly cooler that the tanks water. Depending on the species, this should help them along.

That's awesome Though!! Keep us updated on their progress Stripes!!

    Thanks all.

I am so excited about their spawn that I cant wait for them to come out(if they make it) But I have googled the Coridoras DIY tumbler (thanks Altum) and am definately going to make it tomorrow. Will post some picks of how mine turned out.

I did have a look at them this morning and there seems to be something going on in the eggs. But will definately be very happy if some make it. But still a long way to go.

    Will keep you posted.

These little guy/girls are growing like mad. Till now they are more than double their size already (past sunday a week old). I feed them korrels, brine shrimp and a fry feed for egg fry.

Will post pix as soon as I can get a good photo of them.

Congrats Stripes! I got a book on Cory's a few years ago and have been fascinated by their breeding pattern. Have been wanting to try it for so long...

    Hallo Darren,

You can google it "Corydoras DIY egg tumbler. There is a great way to make ones own tumbler.

They are growing so fast. I have about 90 of them. And already spoken to the LFS in Bloem. The owner said I can bring them all to him when they are about 250mm. But I am going to keep some to myself.

Looking to move some of them to another tank. My currant tank have started to go "overstocked' from the speed they are growing. I have almost 180 small fry in him. 90 Corys and allot of guppy fry (almost a week old). if they can only keep still so that I can count them properley!

A regular GIANT fish farmer now hey?

Amanda , did you breed Giant Mutant Red Tail Catfish?

    I' know you mean 25mm:blink1:

    250mm= 25cm

To get an idea of how many you have:
Take photo, and then zoom in and count.
    It's a lot better...at least pic doesn't move.
