    Hi all

Does anybody know where some good Convicts can be sourced from? I am toying with the idea of setting up a tank for them, havent had them in years and enjoyed it last timeround.

I remember seeing them there a while ago, can't remember if they were of quality? Anyone else seen them perhaps?

They were overstocked in the tanks they were in last time i saw them so probably not the best quality.

Sold them, their territory requirements are too large and they either need to be overstocked or severely understocked (i couldn't keep more then 2 in a 400L tank, they nearly killed the 3rd one, didn't bother the other fish though)You would probably need a tank with lots of caves and such, similar to a malawi tank.

I have normal and albino .. so if you are still interested in a few weeks I might be able to drop some off for you. All from the same parents many moons back - talk about inbreeding.

How many are you looking for?

@f-fish pics will be great but I trust your judgement of poor vs good quality fish without question... Sorry, looking for normal ones - not a fan of any albino in any living form... How old are yours?

@DCWarHound (and anyone else for that matter) - what size were they? I had them in the 1980's and if I remember correctly I had about 5 in a 60 liter tank with no problems. Haven't had them since them so obvious a "bit" rusty!!! Is this normal behaviour the agressiveness? Have not gone into reasearch yet - hectic weekend... @f-fish your thoughts seeing as you are breeding them please?

Well I started with the pair - now dead in 2008 ... all of these are off-spring so not sure if you are into hill-billy fish. They are probably going to throw albino if my tanks are anything to judge by.

Will get some pics - probably tomorrow and post them.

They were a bit smaller then 10cm,the 2 bully ones were bigger then the 3rd one though so that might have been why they were bullying it.

I think 4-5 might be the minimum you can have in a tank if 2 of them aren't a pair.

I think they weren't so aggressive because they don't have allot of swimming space in a 60L with other cichlids compared to larger tanks with fewer cichlids.
