Convicts fry dying off

Hello I was wondering if anyone can help me we just inherited 2 breeding pairs of convicts and new fry I have had them for like 2 weeks and they were already like 2-3weeks old I have lost more than 70% of them and I dont know why are there any tricks I should know everyday I find at least 2-4dead ones

Water quality same as all other tanks and all other fish thriving any tips or special parameters I need to follow and I am feeding them egg layer fry food from lfs

I do at least a 25% - 50% water change every 2 to 3 days on my tank with convict fry. Some do daily changes just to keep water quality pristine.

I feed mine First bites if I keep the fry on their own, currently feeding mine tetra granules I make finer or as is. The parents I have noticed chews and spits out the food for their fry to eat as well.

 

Might be a silly question.....but how big is your tank?

But honestly, thats the bare minimum tank size i will go for, but bigger is better

I think with fry it is very important to do a small water change daily.... its work yes... but needed

With my electric blue acaras and geos we change about 10 to 15% daily and so far that has worked for us..

 

Ok thanks for all the help I will try the daily water changes and see if that helps

You say the water is same as the other tanks but you inherited the fry
What filter did you set up the fry tank with, was it cycled?
