Complet Revamp, 400L of pure plant paradise

So, have been away for a while now, but now I am back, completely turned my old setup on it's head and just finished my reinstall. Check it out. I am now simply looking for a CO2 regulator that works with a general fire fire extinguisher if anyone knows of someone that knows someone perhps. So enough talk lets get down to the pics

Looking good. What lights are on the bottom tank? I bought my co2 setup from ebay and it worked out very affordable. Pm me if you want to know the details...

That looks great, well done! What plant are you using in the sump? It looks like it's very happy, but watch out for nutrient deficiency in the tank...

 

That is simply flame moss that I just keep tapping down. This is my first time with co2, what nutrients should I be adding at what intervals more or less?

@Hawk, thanks I got my co2 sorted. The regulator that I had was simply put together wrong. For some or other reason they had the hp guage attached to the lp out. Got it switched around thou and now it is working great

As to your fert question...You should be dosing macros and micros.

It depends on your chosen fert method as to how much, how often and at what cost. I use the full Seachem Range which can cost a lot of money on a big tank. I dose Excel, Flourish, Iron, Trace, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium as per their online dosing chart.

You could use EI (requires 50% wc's weekly) or Tropica (all in one) or DSD (difficult to get hold of).....Read up about the different products and methods, ask questions and settle on something that will work for you.

On a tank that size, EI or tropica would probably be the best option. You don't have to dose full EI, even half would suffice.
Is that a DIY light stand? It looks good!

 

Thanks. Will check it out. Yea diy stand, needed something movable that I am sure wont crush under the 400kg of water. Each wheel is capable of handeling 800kg so got that sorted. Got my co2 nice and stabilized. Good deep green on drop checker. Very interested in seeing plant development

Got some pygmy corydoras today, the question I have is regarding their barbels. I have flourite substrate, will this hurt them? Also am looking for some hc or other nice carpeting plant, does anyone know where I might find them? Iwanna keep the whole aquarium with very small fish, I do not know if this is still considered nano, but I like the look, have got my heart set on some mosquito rasboras. Then the last thing. Is there a list somewhere of any shrimp that are not blacklisted? As I would like to have some in my sump, cleaning up in there.

Hey Erik

Everything I've read about Flourite and Corydoras says it's a bad idea. (think you should give them to me ). Where did you get them?

Have you tried Fish Etc, Sams or Panarama Pets for carpeting plants?

All shrimp are BL unfortunately.

 

What flourite is it? The black seems to be a problem, but the regular one is fine to keep corys with. Mine have been on it for about a year and they are happy. Good water quality is important with corys too, because if their barbels get cuts, secondary infections can happen and kill them.

 

I have the normal flourite. Picked the corya up at Fish etc actualy, they dont have tropica plants at the moment and will only order in the new year again. Will try panorama, might be able to order for me. I want the carpet specificaly to cover the substrate for the corys but as far as I can see they are just chillin on the sword at the moment. I have little livestock and a large amount of water so I think quality should be allright, also got a uv filter on for 1h each day
