    Hi all.

So I got my self a co2 system to try out. It's a 1 kg bottle, regulater bubble counter and diffuser. So tried it out today and my problem is the bubble counter.

When connected, the water in thee bubble counter just gets pushed out and does not let me check bubbles per second. Am I doing some thing incorrect? Will try to post some picks.

OK, you need to open the co2 valve VERY slowly. It's the sudden burst of pressure that would force the water out of your bubble counter. The slower you increase pressure, the better.

Thanks. How much water should the counter have?

This is an ITSA CO2, I have the same one, just fill the bubble counter just under half way, make sure its properly closed, if it still leaks there is a problem with the counters sealer.

This is probably a really stupid question, but sometimes these small things are the problem... make sure you have the tubes on the correct way around. The inlet must be connected to the longer of the 2. (I know it's a stupid observation, but I can't really see on the picture.)

@dash also looks like you dont have enough water in there, the tubes must stick into the water, and the co2 must go via the water and not into the air.

Hi my problem was that the bubble counter just drained the water out even after closing the gass bottle and opening it very slowly. Only when most of the water us out do I get small bubbles in the tank. Does the counter have to be In an up right position? Mine is hanging at the moment and that may be the problem

I don't have CO2 or anything like that but just a casual observation.

I would raise the cannister to the same height as the tank stand, that will help to stop the water siphoning back into the line...

Yes, it must be upright. Otherwise it is easier to drain the "bottle".

Hi all. Let me just say thank you to all of you for the help and a big thanks to@Sean J he really went out of his way to help me. This is why TASA is so good.

So I got the bubble counter working. One bubble per sec. Got a nice fine mist of bubbles in the tank. A little smaller then an air stone size.

Now my question. I have An fx5 that makes a lot of water movement at the surface of the tank. So, how much co2 is beeing lost because of this? Or is this ok.

    Thanks

As long as it's not breaking the water surface, it's fine.

As @Sean J said, if the surface breaks you will lose co2, same as shaking your coke.

Ok very true however there is little I can do as the fx5 does make some surface movement. How much will I loose or will I loose all co2 in the tank. Sorry for all the questions.

a little movement is fine, in return it is good for oxygen at night, but like Sean said, just as long as it doesn't break the surface.

One install a non return valve in the line, just as you would with a air pump, so that should be ok

Think it goes for about 1500 but it comes with a 1 kg bottle. Does not have a fancy timer and stuff like that. You have to turn on and off your self.
