CO2 System 900

    I just got a whole bunch of fish-keeping stuff from a friend who's getting out of the hobby. There's a couple things in the collection I'm not familiar with and my friend honestly isn't that clued up on all the items either.

    One of the items is a CO2 system that doesn't use a cylinder. There's not much info on the product itself but from what I can find online, it's a Nisso CO2 system 900 like this: http://www.petsglobal.com/website/product_6057/Co2_system.html

    I found one forum posting from a random forum where it got less than rave reviews, but does anyone here have experience with this system? I currently have a low-tech system and wouldn't mind more plant growth, but is it worth installing this, or should I just chuck it?

    There was a review about this product on TASA. Does it use metal plates and some sort of electrolysis to create CO2? It apparantly caused a horrendous mess. Maybe @Zoom had it?
