I don't see why you can't use the first one. Ask if they can add a solenoid to it.

Not 100% nescessary. Solenoid is for using with timers. You can still manually open and close the CO2.

UM... beg to differ with BEEEEG warning lights.

The timer is one of the fundemental things here. This keeps a balance. If you have CO2 too erratic or irregular, BBA! pH swings too much. You leave it on over night by accident.... dead fish in the morning.

not sure about the 3.5 bar working pressure aquarium regulators like aqua medic typically have a fixed working pressure of approximately 1.5 bar ... but check what the solenoid can handle post the needle valve.

If you are planning to use a CO2 atomisers then a working pressure above 2bar would be recommended.

the supplier was very clued-up when i mentioned i want to use it for a planted tank and suggested i use the 1st one in the pic.
I am fairly hands-on and will operate the Co2 manually.

For peace of mind rather get a Solinoid and have it close when light go off,

As for the working pressure , that's a good thing so that you a less limited in the future WRT diffusers , you will however need to drop that worki g pressure down dependent on the diffuser you get.

    Hope this helps

Just another question here I noticed these are single stage regulators, do these type of regulators not do a "dump" once the inlet pressure starts to drop
