    Good day everyone!

I have been looking to get a proper Co2 setup installed (tank, Regulator, Diffuser, CO2 Indicator) for a 30l tank.
But damn these things are expensive!

From what I could find the minimum spend will be R3,5k+, closer to 4K side.
Currently using Denerle Co2 bottles, the ones you mix yourself, but these things barely last the advertised 40 days, and are just a sink cost.
Would love to get sorted on a CO2 setup, but its difficult to pay that all in one shot.

So, everyone, what average spend did you do on your CO2 setup? Share some pics if you want to!

And the question I made this thread for, where would you recommend to purchase one/each part from, for the best price? Would love to hear some options, or alternatives.

I think all that is needed is what I listed above?

ps. If you have a full setup you want to get rid of, dont hesitate to contact me :) Pta area

A fire extinguisher with a turn valve conversion is a cheaper way to get a bottle. You might also want a co2 bubble counter

    Hi,

If I recall correctly my CO2 bottle (a 5 kg fire extinguisher) was about R1700, the regulator was about R1500. So in total everything was R3500 - R4000. However, I use this on a 4ft tank, I need to refill once every 18 months.

Will definitely look into the fire extinguisher route, these normal co2 bottles are expensive. And 1,7k for a 5kg is quite good, compared to the normal ones i see for like 1,5k for 1kg.
But at least the size lasts ,so its quite a once off big investment with refills yearly.
How much do you guys pay for a refill? I assume its nothing too major?

And will definitely take a look at a bubble counter also, thanks @Whoknows

Have a look at Art of Aqua. Think you can get yourself a full system for around 2.5k
