Cloudy water???

    Hi,my y 300 liter tank is running for a month now,problem is our tap water is very high in chlorine...I just can't get my tank water crystal clear it stays cloudy above the water lever agains the glass u see a lot off white chlorinestainson the pipes aswelland heater cable,I did try seagem PRIME still no luck,its a bare bottom tank,filtering I have a build in sump filled with ceramic rings,filter wool and sponge with 1000lph pum,a HOB 800lph filled with seagem matrix and activated carbon and a 500lph canister filled with sponge and seagem matrix I think the problem is the Chlorine even my water I useer changes I treat with Prime and let it stand for days what else can I try or will itclears up with time?

    Hi, I really don't think it is chlorine causing the stains. What is the water hardness in your local area? The slight cloudiness could be bacterial or algal blooms - I think that topic is discussed in depth on another thread here by Zoom. As for the white precipitate on your pipes, my best bet would be Mg or Ca scaling that is forming. I see you have a discuss in there. As far as I know they require soft low pH water. All the best!

    Yeah must agree almost looks like a chalk or limescale ..

    How do you prepare your water for a WC?
