    I wonder if this is affecting ornamental cichlids as well @Jack Stone?

    Yes @Broder this does effect the ornamental cichlids too, according to some local reports they are not found in as much abundance as they were in the early years. However, fishing for the ornamental industry is dwarfed by fishing of edible species on Lake Tanganyika and most populations of fish which are not fished for food remain in suitable numbers for the ornamental industry. Some ornamental species and variants have a red list conversation status and are not collected out of the wild by ethical exporters and not imported from the wild by Stone Aquatics. It is believed some shortages have been caused by particularly large demand in the aquarium trade for a variant which may not be found in large numbers naturally nor easily bred in captivity and also facilitated by over-fishing from exporters keen to feed their families.

    Really sad how mankind is destroying our world.

    Hopefully the damage can be reduced over the next few years. but somehow I doubt it will be.
