My tank is fine and have a big piece of driftwood in it. I found some nice rocks today at pet store that I bought. Pet store says they are from China and clay based rocks. They say they don't affect ph at all. Do clay based rocks affect ph at all as don't want to upset the balance in my tank if they do?

I will check with the pet shop tomorrow and get back to you but there is no resin. It is a natural clay based rock.

IF there is no paint or resin put on the rock then it should be safe. Post a pic. How soft is the rock? Can you scratch it with you fingernail? Do pieces of it come off? If its to soft it will disintegrate with time and leave you with clay.

I suspect this may be 'Dragon Rock" what you are talking about - post a pic and we will soon tell you. If it is dragon Roack then no problem to use.

Dragon rock is safe to use and will not alter your pH

If it is terra cota pots and they are baked properly they would be totally inert. Clay or terra cotta should not have effect on pH or hardness.
