For those that might not be aware and to clarify the removal of a thread earlier in the week, we would like to bring the new laws from ICASA that came into effect if i remember correctly early 2019

Being part of a Community Policing Forum, the seriousness and imlications of these rules have been brought to our attention by SAPS on numerous occasions

These apply to open forums such as TASA, WhatsApp groups, Facebook groups and any other public social media platforms

You are not allowed to name or shame a business or individual on social media groups

You are not allowed to post photos of anyone claiming they suspects in any illegal activities on social media groups

The Legal repercussions are wide spread
Admin of the group can be held legally accountable or sued for posting without the business or individual having been found guilty by a Court of Law
You can be charged with interfering or jeopardizing the authorities ie SAPS or other authorities investigations

Lastly but not least, not only can the Admin of such group be charged but they can charge and hold accountable every member of that group for participating and allowing this to happen and not reporting it

Hope this clarifies the seriousness of this as well as gives a thumbs up to those that are part of Social media groups and are not aware of this.

Like everything else, you might get away with it a few times but if the axe comes down on you it will or can affect everyone involved as well
