    Just get ceramic base rock that marine guys use

    thanks - where would one find such a thing. Don't think my LFS has these.

    Most do have, especially if they stock some marines. Its porous white manufactured rock

    Added bonus is some biological filtration. Think massive ceramic rings

    try get lava rock?
    I know a shop in pta that has nice lava rocks with big holes in them .

    yeah, i know about all of these but the cichlid stones are easier to stack

    I think they look very fake but thats just me. The volcanic rock has holes drilled in it but its very expensive.

    Heres a trick, u can use the coke crates from the 2l bottles and then stack that at the back of the tank then pack your rocks on top of that, gives the fish place to hide and saves u money on buying all those extra rocks.

    the lava rock is 25 rand a kg .

    not that expensive when you factor in that they weigh less than "normal rocks" of the same size .

    you get a lot of rock for your buck .

    aren't coke crates just as fake?

    maybe take this thread into the sponsors request section im sure on of the sponsors can try to help ?
