    Hi All,

Here is another one of my oddballs - a Channallabes apus.
It is generally peacefull. But it goes absolutely mental at feeding time. Swimming around hoovering up food like there is no tommorrow. You can actually see it's stomach bulging when it has had enough.
Apparently in the wild they crawl out of the water to catch insects on the river banks.

Indeed, a stunner of a fish there. Any chance of a feeding video, or is that asking too much? :p

@Vez - My Mrs thinks it is something out of Lord of the Rings.

@Oscar - Thanks. I started this set up with common stuff. Tetras, Mollies etc. But I really like wierd oddballs. So I have slowly swapped the ordinary stuff for the wierdos. Luckily my lfs is quite accommodating. They give me credit for the fish I bring back that goes towards what I buy there.

@ - Vis, no that's the only photo. It's actually quite tricky to photograph because it's quite long.

@Salmon. No video. Its fave food is minced fish which I feed to my Reeds at night time. The tank lights are off, so video would prob be too dark. I can try though.

    Hi Thanks.
If people want I can continue posting pics of my fish?
Or I can stop if people feel I am bragging. I don't want to annoy people.

    Re my water stats.
Ph = 7.8 (after standing for 24 hours).
KH = 15 dH out of the tap. But I artificially lower it using "Seachem PH/KH Down" to about 7.
I also use a little Black Water Treatment to add some tanins etc.
A lot of people are against using chemicals to artificially lower water chemistry. But ever since I have been doing it, my Angels for eg seem much happier and haven't stopped laying, so I am continueing to use it for the mean time.

Problem was that they grow and FEED...lol.Poor Mrs.Whatisface's Neons kept disapearing...lol - One of my clients has a fullgrown guy he absolutely adores... Great fish

    I have its ugly brother

Gymnallabes typus (actually 4 of them)

They are so hard to photo when given the bogwood and plants they like to hide in.

I also keep lots of odd balls but have fortunately enough room to still enjoy some of the common fish I had growing up. Mine eat well at times and other times just pick at their food.

    Thanks,

I actually have not filmed anything new since March. I've been too busy with a basketball tournament. What fish do you keep?

    @arapaimag

If you click on the "forum" tab at the top of this screen, then on the "rules and regulations. In there you will find the Blacklist of fish and the Blacklist of plants. Very sad when you know how stunning some of these fish actually are!
